Anyone use quidco?

I have just signed up and joined the "Earn 1k in a year challenge".

How does it work?

I just buy stuff through the website and they will pay me the money I earn?

Does anyone else use it?

I am a member but I found that Topcashback was a better site for the things I was buying.
  • I use Quidco and Topcashback. Search for what you want through Quidco, follow the link to the site where you will buy it. Buy it. Your cashback will be tracked on your Quidco account. It takes absolutely ages to pay. Don't rely on any of the cash back until you actually get it in your bank account. All that said, how nice is free money! I haven't bought anything I wouldn't have bought anyhow. If I want to buy something I research where it is cheapest then find out who does cashback. So I bought some fancy body wash for £3 cheaper that I would have got it in the shops then got £2 cash back. How cool is that!
If you knew it then you know it!

  • Hi there

I have used Quidco for several years now and have never been let down, I think I paid five quid to join but got that back very quickly in money back from purchases.

    Regards
    Carly :)

It is the closest thing to free money I have come across.

Topcashback is a far better site. They pay quicker and have better customer service. They also offer a 'best cashback rate' deal. e.g. you see something on their site offering 8% but on quidco it's 10%. Go through topcashback, then put in a 'claim' and show them what quidco are offering (normally a link to the quidco page with the info). They will then match that.

    They also offer 'top ups':

Based on your previous months earnings you get:

    £0.00 To £99.99 100% 101%
    £100.00 To £199.99 105% £
    200.00 + 110%

The simple nature is that it is cheaper for retailers for you to place an order online (automatically done v's shop, staff, electricity and other bils) so to encourage you to order online they offer you 'cahback' (basically a discount).

You will also see money for taking out new products (e.g. snapfish give free photo's and cashback. They hope once you have tried the service for 'free' you will be inmpressed and continue to use them and the money they initially laid out getting your custom will be made back by any subsequent orders).

A nice bit of 'free' money can be made in this way.

They also offer £2.50 for a friends referral and sometimes £5 during bonus periods.
I get what i want. That isn't because i'm a brat or spoilt. It's because i'm determined, i work hard for it and i achieve my goals!

I would only use it if there was something I was going to buy anyway, and although I don't buy that much online, when I do it adds up.

Eg every year I search for car insurance, so once I've got the best quote, if it's available through quidco then I go through there. Which is great, apart from like last year when my renewal was the best offer I got.

I'm not a big fan of Quidco, I prefer TCB(Topcashback) as they are far better at customer service. Quidco delayed one of my payments for 2-3 months, despite the payment schedule informing me that I would be paid the money owed during each of those months.

It was only when I made an enquiry that I was provided a reason. Fair enough, I got paid after resolving the issue. They were too slow in responding throughout and resolving the issue seemed a longer process than it really needed to be.

I would still use Quidco, but I realise I would not really generate enough cashback through them to make it worthwhile. Being deducted a £5 yearly charge does not help, but I really do prefer TCB on the whole. Comparing their performance against TCB is a reason alone for not returning.

Also I need to get car insurance soon, so I will run quotes through all of the car insurance comparison sites with TCB in April/May to generate a little extra cashback. My friends warn me that their car insurance has risen despite having no accidents, so I'm bracing myself for a bigger quote.

Ive been with Quidco for years now and it is easy money - providing you were going to buy the items anyway (like insurance) and you do actually get the money.

This year Ive gone more towards TCB for the simples reason that they pay slightly more and theres no fee so more than £5 better off straight away.

If you've just signed up you can make a few quid on the surveys etc but other than that things are a bit thin on the clicking front these days.
