Hi has anyone seen the new part work Baked & Delicious, part one only 99p which includes 6 x silicone cake cases, then it goes up to £4.99 a fortnight, and that includes freebies, by the time you have collected them it will work out expensive, but my thoughts are to bake more and stop buying shop bought items, so I think it will save in the end, and its learning too. What are your thoughts

Why not just buy all the equipment that you'll need from Wilkos for example and get a baking cookbook and/or surf the web for recipes? Much cheaper IMHO, and you'll still be learning:o0

As you say they add up to be quite expensive and you can pick up recipes free off the internet quite easily but if it inspires you to bake and stop buying shop bought items then you'll probably save in the long run. I've just had a peek at the preview of issue 1 and there's some nice recipes in there, plus simple clear instructions and pictures so you can see what you should be doing!
If you think you'll probably buy the magazine every fortnight it might be worth getting a subscription, if you sign up you get a cake slice, electronic kitchen scales and a set of 3 cake tins free. I've looked at their faqs and you can cancel your subscription at any time.

Those part works end up costing hundreds of £'s. You could buy yourself a Kenwood Chef or KitchenAid and still have change to buy baking pans etc.0

If I see the first one I'll buy it for the cases but won't buy another. I'd look at it the same way."Who’s that tripping over my bridge?" roared the Troll.

IMO total waste of money when you could buy bakeware and a decent cookbook!June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

I think the first one isn't bad for the free cases, in the pound shop you wouldn't get the recipes etc but anything after that then no I wouldn't it'll work out so expensive when you can buy bake ware so cheaply now.Credit Card: £796 Left/£900 October 2011 :eek:Store Card: £100 October 2011

In my experience they normally drag out the free gifts as well, so you might get one after 3 weeks and the second after 6 weeks etc. They do it to encourage you to keep subscribing. Definitely not worth the money IMHO, you could invest in some good quality equipment (probably much better than the free ones you might get) and many many great cookbooks and still have plenty of change!GC 2023 June £72/500 NSDs 1/100
