Santander and credit file woes

Hi there
Would someone be so kind as to read my letter to Santander below and tell me if I should add or change anything, it is my belief that they have added marks to my credit file 6 times in the course of last year due to me not being able to set up a Direct debit and as they wouldn't take the payments before they were due I had to call up with my debit card and make the payments manually which meant the paymetns showed as being made a few days later and therefore late, i dont aggree that this is my fault (except in the inital month which I tried to rectify right away)
Dear Santander
I am writing with reference to marks you have put on credit file which are unacceptable, in January 2010 due to a banking error my direct debits for both of the above accounts which are also listed on the enclosed document were cancelled in error. I called Santander as soon as I noticed the error and attempted to rectify this, I was told that the payments for both had gone through, it was not until I received my bank statement the following month that I realised that since calling yourselves the payments had been pulled back from you.
I called Santander and rectified this error and also attempted to reset my Direct Debit with you. You were not able to set up my Direct Debit and I was told on a number of occasions that this was an error on your part and from February to December 2010 I had to call up and make manual payments on the 26th of each month as you were not able to take them any time before they were physically due, as you can see on the enclosed copy of my credit file, this has impacted on me negatively with either a “late payment” mark or an “arranged to pay” mark and incorrectly reflects the true history of the account, Every single month that I called to pay on the 26th of each month I asked you to set up this Direct Debit and you failed to do this, I therefore ask that you remove the negative marks on my credit file immediately.
Am I going down the right track?

Sounds ok but I would be a bit firmer. I would end with "as this situation was entirely caused by your errors you should immediately amend the credit file".

Hi,
Sorry new here but...
I am currently trying to clear up issues on my credit file and my issues are also with Santander (only because it was originally with a historical A&L account now closed). I spoke to customer services and they were helpful to a point but said I would have to send my information in writing and proof of my issues. So maybe sending any copies of statements/credit reports/letters may help with providing evidence to the arguement.
All the best
