Overpayment Arrears

This is amusing, apparently my mortgage company (C&G) have somehow managed to mis-process the 'maximum permitted 10%' annual overpayment I made in January in such a way they've declared me in arrears and passed my account off to their collections department ??!?
The first I hear is getting a call from one of their collection centre chav's this morning yelling at me I'm in arrears with my mortgage and need to sort out with her how I was going to make them up.....:rotfl:
(they have continued to take my DDs as normal)
After a short conversation she was phoning the internal C&G helpdesk who she passed me on to and turned very apologetic and promised to resolve things on a 'urgent' basis (2-3 working days in their book).
I look forward to harassing their agents and calling them at all hours of the day if they drag their feet on this one :T

It gets better, got a letter in the post today accusing me of beng £670 in arrears, inviting me to send them a cheque and quoting a list of their 'collection activity fees' including £35 per phone call they make.
Am drafting a nice, to the point complaint letter to follow up highlighting all the issues they've managed to cause entirely from their end.... suggesting as well as putting my account in order they consider making a credit to my account for all the time wasting and hassle I'll have gone thru and highlghting the value they put per phone call for my inconvenience....
(especially as my tie end period ends this September)
Will see what that shakes out0 -
ooh keep us posted. Good luck.0

Well this certainly seems to be dragging on... popped into one of their branches the day after my last post to try and get some visibility on my account but apparently they'd managed to break every PC in that particular branch and couldn't do anything at all except offer me a phone to call the helpline.
More verbal assurances they'll fix everything and a repeat request from me they check if they've trashed my credit rating and remedy if they have.
Fast forward 4 weeks and having heard nothing I call them back - their CS agent can see notes on my account their credit reporting department was requested to investigate but no updates as yet. Get them to 'call through', apparently now they've been able to confirm they HAVE trashed my credit report with mortgage arrears but can clearly see it was their error and have again 'promised' to put it right :mad:
Its a good thing I'm not needing credit checks for anything at the moment.....0 -

They have a responsibility under the Data Protection Act as the data would be inaccurate. After they say its resolved demand that they supply a record from the three mainly used reference agents, I think they are Experian/Equifax and Call-credit.That way you are guaranteed that other are no issues are underlying with your report which may cost you in the future re any financial applications.Mortgage @ April 2010 £86000 (18yr 2 yr Fixed 3.99 then 1.99 over BR - Currently 2.49)
Balance @ Jan 2017 £56992
Over payment's to date £2100
MF Date - March 2020 or sooner0 -
I am with them, and they are pretty chaotic - one hand doesn't know what the other is doing etc. I have had some issues with them but nothing this bad  Have you made an official complaint? If not, do so - they have to resolve it within a certain time or the regulators get involved.0
