  • Hi,

I'm in the early stages of setting up a debt management plan with Payplan, and I can't tell you what a huge weight it is to speak to someone who can help and advise properly. You need to call them as soon as you can though, because they have to make an appointment to go over your finances - I called them last Thursday and couldn't get an appointment till today... I think they're VERY busy at the moment!

  • yes if you need help cccs , cab or payplan only the free ones dont pay for advice dont consolidate, unsecured is what you should leave them as , make sure you keep essentials up to date mortgage councill tax etc etc get some help to put the debts on a repayment programme and you should be fine if they the debts call you etc tell them what you are doing dont let them frighten you in to paying what you cant afford you will only end up in more trouble stick your heals in confront it head on and you will be fine

    Hi Loopy_Laura

I'm wondering if you bank with HSBC? If so, have you considered changing banks so that you are in complete control of your monthly income. I was in a position at one point where I had my pay, overdraft, loan and a credit card all with the same banker which is great when your finances are great. However, I ran into some difficulty when I was made redundant and they froze my account and any money that went in (including my jobseekers) was money they considered to be theirs. Whilst it did get sorted out it was major stress at the time.

I learned the hard way not to put all my credit into one basket and now spread it around and I'm completely happy to be called a credit tart :j
