Worth noting that the 'notorious' statement would be nothing more than pub talk

Except for the fact that, as I said in the post immediately after DunstonH, I actually have a copy of such an agreement!

I am also of the view that multi tie is actually worse than single tie. At least with a single tie, the consumer knows exactly what they are dealing with.

Is Mr Miller anyone I should know?
See post #10, #13, #17. I thought jonathanmiller most likely to be able to answer your questions about Openwork.
I am a mortgage broker. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. This signature is here as I follow MSE's Mortgage Adviser Code of Conduct. Any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as financial advice. Please do not send PMs asking for one-to-one-advice, or representation.

As I'm the only financial adviser posting on this thread, why?
I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.
  • I'll rephrase that - doesn't give you much confidence in the financial services industry does it?

It doesnt give you much confidence in salesforces and the sales side of the industry. However, that has nearly always been the case. Which is why you should always avoid the sales side.

Luckily, with RDR, when people have to pay for advice, the sales side will either have to stop (like Barclays) or have to become more honest in their approach.

By which, of course, you mean they pay explicitly for advice.

Note, though, that Gadaffi claims to have called a cease fire but seems to be carrying on much as before. I am not convinced that the RDR will resolve this problem and we won't end up with more intelligent crooks who are more capable of pulling the wool over the eyes of their clients/victims!

Didn't need a lot of detective work to trace him - see here.

Based one junction along the M4 from Openwork's Head Office.

Of course other Jonathan Millers are available so it may not be him.

Seems likely though, doesn't it? He's on Linkedin too. Bit daft to post in your own name and then go all coy when asked who you work for, when it's all out there on the web anyway.
