The highest debt I saw posted was approx £190K and that made me feel good because that was without their mortgage which I think was another £160K........:j I belong to Mike's Mob :j0

Ruddy hell. That total should put them in to a MSE Celebrity status. That is one hell of a challenge sorting that out. Hope they managed it :money:0 -

Actually it was Mr President - of the United States who're currently in a deeper hole than the UK's in, unlike the UK however they have plenty of scope for making it back. I say they donate one of the following back to good ol UK - New York, Florida, Las Vegas, Hawaii, that would solve our defecit in no time!Retired member - fed up with the general tone of the place.0 -
I recall a chap a few months back who said something along the lines of "I owe my dad £100,000...but he doesn't know it yet..."
I think he'd been dipping into dad's money whilst he was minding it for him in his own bank account. He seemed genuinely remorseful - I hope it worked out for him.0 -

Thats the thing, I think say a £10k debt might be the end of the world to 1 person where its a months wage to another so its pretty hard to look at it without seeing the persons situation.0

Exactly....if you're earning 100k, then 20k debt is probably not that big a deal, for someone earning 10k, then 8k is a massive amount of debt. I've been grafting for a year to pay off what started at debts of around 95% of my annual salary, and I've got about half of it left to pay, and probably best part of a year to go to finish paying it off. Never again!DFW - DEBT FREEEEEE!
Total - 10762/10762
