Capquest - should I contact them?

Hi
I have a defaulted credit card that was passed to Wescot credit services, then moved to Regal credit which i was paying £35 a month to.
After receiving a letter from Regal telling me i had to increase payments to £50 I wrote back telling them of my situation and explaining i can not increase my payments and would only be able to continue paying the £35.
The debt is for £2200.
Regal wrote back to me saying that my details have now been passed to Capquest to manage as from 1st March.
I havent heard anything from capquest yet and after reading other posts on them i am worried they will issue me with a ccj or something without contacting me first.
I am willing to reset my payment plan with them and do want to get this paid off I just really dont want a ccj against me. Would I have to increase my payments to more than i paid Regal? And would Regal pass on my debit card details to Capquest for them to take money from me without asking?
What should i do? Help!

Don't panick just yet.
Sit tight and wait to hear from crapquest. We can go from there.Happiness, is a Kebab called Doner.....:heart2::heart2:0 -
If Crapquest have bought the debt from Regal they have no doubt paid a very small amount for it. Is there any chance that you could scrape together a few hundred pounds and offer a Full and Final settlement? Do you know exactly how much you now owe? You should get a balance from Regal so that you will know if Capquest try to add any other charges onto the debt.
Don't bother contacting them until they write to you. I don't think that they will be able to use your debit card details to take payments as you have only authorised Regal to do so, unless they are the same company?
(someone else may know this)
If Capquest contact you, do yourself a favour and don't give them your debit card details, offer to pay them by standing order only. That way, you are in charge of the payments, they cannot take money just when they feel like it. You don't have to pay anymore than you can afford so don't be bullied by their "scary" letters and definitely don't speak to them on the phone, keep all correspondance in writing and keep a copy of everything that you send and receive."I may be many things but not being indiscreet isn't one of them"0 -

I'd send a CCA request (£1 postal order, no signature, recorded delivery) to whoever's chasing now.
Then, once the 12+2 days elapses, you can quite legally cease any and all payments.
You are quite within your rights to have them substantiate the debt - if they want money from you, have them work for it.
I'd discourage phone contact with them, or offering F&Fs.0
