Do banks etc profit from selling details to credit report web sites?

Hi people, sorry if this thread is in the wrong place/already been asked, first time poster.

My question is as the title suggests Do banks etc profit from selling details to credit report web sites?

The reason I ask is that Mint CC has posted incorrect defaults on my credit report (yes I had some duely but they even posted I had defaults before I opened the account which ment I wouldnt have even been 18) and before writing to them I wanted some back up ammo as the Data protection act states data must be "accurate and, where necessary, kept up-to-date" in it golden rules.

Thanks Rob

No they dont make any money from reporting your file.
I all have learnt is from others on many sites.
    Seek legal help if unsure.
Dont pay Private Parking tickets - they are mere invoices.
