You are playing semantics. If you say it is set to increase then effectively you are going to be saying that for the next thirty years. At this time, everyone has a state pension age based on their date of birth and that age is not set to be increased.Eco Miser

Check your payslip properly. Your NI is deducted from you Gross Pay, you are taxed on your Gross Pay, therefore you have paid tax on the money used to pay for your NI.0 -
So it seems like £140 a week flat rate is confirmed - at least for those who aren't already on a state pension. So --- back to my original question. Do you think it will be flat rate for everyone including those who have not paid enough contributions?:jKeep it simple. If in doubt - desist.0

I wil hit 65 in 2013 so the worry for me is that the new pension rates kick in, for those retiring, after it is introduced in the future.
My wife is 60 so is already getting pension and will also miss out. UNLESS when it is officially announced there is more to it than the papers have reported. I do hope so:eek:0 -
I am a pensioner who foolishly moved to France where I could just about afford to buy a home. I had no way of knowing that the UK Government would not allow a pensioner who caught a half hour train across the water, to receive pension credit. So the £100 I get all goes on overheads direct debits, I cannot stop the house insurance - it is the law you must have it here, so I guess its the electricity that will have to stop first since I have been unable to buy any food for 5 weeks now. Just using flour and old stores in the cupboards. But - I did pay into the system all my working life in the UK, being a born and bred British national. Now developed a heart problem but cannot afford doctor or hospital.0
