I believe even when they were staying together, your daughter will not be affected unless they have a joint account together such as joint savings account, joint mortgage or any joint personal loans application.

The best thing he can do is sign up here!!! He will get loads of support and this will also help reassure your daughter.
Thanks (again). I've sent her a text saying she needs to get the files from the credit reference agencies and I'm going to speak to her properly later today. I also have to convince her grandmother that bankruptcy isn't the end of the world.

Unfortunately, part of their cutting back has meant them having to give up their broadband, otherwise, I'd be recommending the site like a shot.

  • It may also affect household insurance if they have it, see one of my long-running threads https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1854585 about how I am trying to change this.

If they have insurance it is a wise idea to phone the insurers and ask if they need to be aware of the issue otherwise should a claim be lodged it may get refused.

Thanks. I'll take a look and let my daughter know.
