Hello everyone, i'm after a bit of advice please...
I have a credit card debt (£416 on a Santander card) which I have stupidly forgotten to deal with (I have other credit cards and a loan which I am paying back via a self administered DMP). Anyway, I have been sent a County Court Claim Form, which has added costs of £30 court fee and £50 solicitors costs, taking the total up to £496. I can afford to pay the debt straight away (can borrow the money from partner) BUT will I really have to pay these extra costs?? I phoned the company that the debt has been sold on to and they said that yes, I do have to pay it as the case has 'gone to court', even though she went on to say that if i paid it all now no further court action etc would be taken.
So, any ideas on if I can get out of paying this £80????
Cheers!
