Defaults with wrong dates on file! Help

Hi i am new to this site and apologise if it is in the wrong place.

Well i have recently looked at my credit file as i suspected a bit of ID theft.

Prior to looking i have seen that a company has placed a default on my account when i was on a Debt managment scheme and met the agreed payments.

I have also rang the company and told them that they had to put this default in writing and do this before applying the default.

The defualt was placed in december 2009 but also in that month a payment of £70 was placed well above the agreed amount (min payment).

Also prior to this the account stated that it was settled and satisfied in jan 2010. i have rang the company who issued the credit and they are saying the account was settled on july 2010 and the default was issued in feb 2010.

Is there a posibility that there could be a mix up as i have met the terms that we agreed and i had no notice of any defualt been placed on file.

Please help as i am looking at buying a house with partner and keep getting minor sit backs.

Cheers
Mooreboy

    Hi

The default will have been registered as when you on a dmp you break the terms of the original credit agreement, therefore 'defaulting' on the agreement.

I am in a similar situation and have one on my file from 2008 - not sure there's much you can do but sit tight and wait for it to drop off after 6 years.
Here to offer help and advice, and maybe take a little in return.

Whilst I am happy to share my knowledge, I am in no way a professional... I can not therefore accept responsibility for inaccurate info, I ask that you take professional advice rather than rely totally the info provided by myself

I all have learnt is from others on many sites.
    Seek legal help if unsure.
Dont pay Private Parking tickets - they are mere invoices.
