edited 7 March 2011 at 9:35PM in It's gone, but was it any good?
I got a card through the door the other day saying that Joules are having one of their big clearance sales at Goodwood racecourse next weekend.
Apparently they claim there will be loads of bargains with lots of stuff at "up to" 80% off.

Don't know what these sales are usually like, whether it's worth a trip if you're into Joules stuff or not, perhaps others who've been to one before might be kind enough to offer feedback?

"Treat yourself to some fantastic bargains at The Joules Big Sale! Up to 80% off the original price on selected items from previous seasons. Location: Goodwood Racecourse, Goodwood, Chichester, Sussex, PO18 0PS

I've been to one at Newbury and they do have some bargains, not everything is that cheap but most is at least haklf price. They seem to get cheaper on the 2nd day aswell.

Do you have any details regarding times each day? Is there an entrance fee? Is it actually at the racecourse?

I live really close but have never heard of this and I sometimes buy Joules stuff for my boys as it seems to last forever!

    Thanks

  • I went to the harrogate one in December

A bit limited- new stuff/sizes out on 2 nd day. Wellies sold out 1st so go to that bit 1sy if you want some

Childrens clothes 3 items for £20
    Adult dresses 3 for £50
    Skirts I think 3 for £30 ish
    Padded gilets about £25
    Hacking jackets a bout £75

Best buy was kids socks £1 each. I have noted them selling on ebay for £4-5 each

I would go if its local ( within hour) but wouldn't travel further

I went down about an hour before and was 2nd in queue. The 1st lady travels to them all. She said usually a really big queue and lots of dealers who buy to sell on eBay. Staff commented that the harrogate one was quiet ( it was snowy) and they were massively over staffed. They give you a big empty bag to fill up.

Basically when you bought 3 the third was free. So dresses £25 or 3 for £50. I only liked 2 dresses but got a third one and sold it instantly on eBay for £30 .

  • I have noticed people selling the girls spotty gilet which was £10 or 3 for £20 at £20 each on eBay.

They had fab stripy adult socks 3 for £10- my entire family is living in them- snuggly.

their socks are so good! I would never normally pay £8 for one pair but they're really long, good quality and snuggly! 3 for £10 is a fab deal!!
  • I have been today. Got there half hour before doors opened. Got some fantastic bargains. They were selling kids clothes at £10 each or 3 for £20. Given that their boy's sweatshirts usually retail at £27 I was really pleased. Loads of other deals to be had but size 12s were few and far between.
