Advice on 16 year old Lodger

I've just posted this on the up your income board, but thought it might be better placed on this one:
Not sure where to post this. To cut a long story short I take on student teachers and rent them a room - I am on a universities list for landladies. I live in a small village and most people know I do this. A charity based in my village has asked if I can take on a child of 16 who is coming for 2 weeks to attend the local school and do something with the charity. The charity worker is coming to see me tomorrow night. the boy is currently at a well known boarding school and is very musically gifted.
I just feel a bit unsure about his age and what if any responsibility I might have towards him other than providing, bed, breakfast and evening meal.
Can anyone advise?
Just thought I would like to see what people thought before I speak with the charity worker tomorrow - of course I can always say "no". Thanks in advance.

I imagine you'd need to have a full enhanced police check, but as to other responsibilities I don't know...July 2015 - £7800 to pay off0

At 16 I left home, hitch-hiked hundreds of miles away, found myself digs and a job etc. Even today you can legally have sex, you can get married, probably still join the forces and get shot at, drive a motorbike etc. and you suggest that the police need to do a round up and spot check on your landlady ?
If so, just what has the country become ?0 -
At 17 I had my first baby, he's 42 now and Im still with the daddy.
I understand what P.a is saying though, the world is full of bureacratic crap.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

I am not suggesting that the police 'need to', simply that that is policy for most, if not all, of organisations dealing with minors.July 2015 - £7800 to pay off0 -
I guess what I'm asking is that at 16 are you still classed as a minor? I have tried to google it to find out with no success.Debt free and Keeping on Track0

I'm sure in situations like this, Its more of a "foster carer" role they look for then "landlady" As i'm sure I've seen our own local authority advertising for people to put up 16/17 year olds.0

Minors are under 16. At 16, you can legally leave the parental home (like myself and many others). You owe nothing other than to act as a landlady.0
