What sort of foods can you use in a dehydrator then? Sounds expensive to me  I was lucky enough to get a breadmaker on freecycle last week. It has been on every day since - we've never eaten so much bread

Hi mummyjane,
This thread has lots of advice on using dehydrators and what food can be dried in them:

My favourite gifts lately ( well, first decent ones for years actually!) have been a bird feeding station for the garden, and a recipe folder that my sister bought me. I love them both.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...

Wow - they really are old school things!
I like the look of the old mincer though
have never thought about making butter will have to read up on that, as for a mangle again, I have never even considered one of those - I am not ready to part with my automatic washing mashine just yet so will stick with that for now. That has really got me thinking though, thank you.
I would love a recipe folder/book! I have seen a few of those lately and it would be nice to have all my recipes in a book rather than many many scraps of paper :rotfl:GC 2023 June £72/500 NSDs 1/100 -
Maybe the mangle would do as a giant pasta roller?

There is a thread on homemade butter, which I must try sometime, here:

Delia says that if you buy a hand mincer you should get one which has a clamp rather than suction pads, as they are easier to get off and much more immovable.0 -

My neighbours found it strange enough when I told them I had used cloth nappies for the kids - can you imagine what they would think if they saw me doing that :rotfl:GC 2023 June £72/500 NSDs 1/100
