I had these, but could never get to grips with them, think I'm just clumsy though :o

any recipe for Cornish pasties would work with them & just about any pie filling, bridie recipes seem to be similar to the Cornish pasty, but without the veg, I had an old recipe, I'll see if I can find it
you could make some stewed beef or mince & make your own steak bakes/mince bakes
pre-cooked curry or chilli, with a bit of grated cheese in with the chilli if you like

& they're great for using up/dressing up leftovers that aren't enough to make a whole meal from

Calzones, put anything you'd put on top of a pizza inside them, so there's a lot of scope, lots of veggie fillings possible too
but keeping to the minced beef theme ... pizza tomato sauce, stir fried seasoned minced beef (spiced if you like) mozzarella, lightly sauteed diced onion & herbs
it'll take a bit of trial & error to get the amount just right so you don't get the filling spilling out, but they'll still taste good even if they burst :)

I've got a latin American recipe for turnovers made with minced beef, I'll dig it out & post later, see if I can find anything else too

you'll probably have had loads of replies by the time I get back :D

EDIT ... samosa fillings would work too

I've had one of these for literally years and never used it, tho I fancy little pies a lot. OH doesn't like pastry so I never got round to making them. I thought that anything you could put in a toasted sarnie would work - all the variations on cheese + chutney, or tomato etc - as above, also cooked chicken + ham or a range of things (spring onion, tomato, curry paste + mayo.) Cornish pasty fillings - tho think meat would need to be cooked). And sweet ones - jam, just slightly stewed apple or other fruit, tinned pie fillings, honey and nuts etc etc. I just wasn't sure how 'wet' you can or need to make the filling. Please report back when you've tried one and I'll dust my gadget off and have a go !

I'm really interested in getting a set of these. I've also already got some potential filling ideas in my mind - unfortunately just haven't had chance to test them. I can say, however, that a mixture of sausagemeat and chorizo, perhaps with a few veggies in too, is a lovely tasty filling. Here's my "to try" pasty list

    curried onion and potato
    cheese and bacon
    chicken and mushroom
    salmon and herb
tomato and mozzarella (I think using the teeniest pasty press would make lovely little canapes)

    Hope that helps.

    I also have these!
But when I bought them you only got two sizes but they are fantastic.
As a veggie I tend to make vegetable pasties., or the cheese, onion and potatoe ones from Domestic Goddess ( I do roast the little pieces of potatoe instead of boiling them)
