How long do you wait for your hair appt?

I've been to quite a few different hairdressers, don't think I've ever had to wait more than 5-10 mins, any longer than that is a bit much. Even when getting my hair done by students in a college salon, I've not had to wait 35 mins. I'd be prepared to give them a bit more leeway, but if I was paying the going rate in a "proper" salon, I wouldn't be happy to wait so long each time.

I never have to wait, but then I'm prepared to pay for a hairdresser who schedules herself properly so she can keep properly to her appointment times. I remember when a friend of mine got married and she was almost late for her own wedding because the hairdresser kept her waiting for an hour. It's totally worth it to me to be able to predict when I'll be in and out.

The first time I went it was a 10.30appt on a Sat. I waited half an hour before any attention - the second time I asked for an earlier appt (thinking the backlog wouldn't have built up). It was for 9.30 and she didn't do anything til 5 past 10. I think she must have fitted in an extra person before I arrived (5 mins early for my appt, as I always tend to be a little early)

I'll ask around where other people go I think

    Thanks for your views

    Hi Downshifted,
I find this incredibly rude when stylists do this...half an hour before any attention, did they offer you coffee, magazines or an apology?
I also used to use a very good salon as I liked the cut,but the stylists were just too arrogant and after waiting once and being totally ignored in the process I left.
Now I go to a local salon with lots of old ladies but a young stylist, I get treated with respect, get a good cut & colour and they remember my name!
My other stylist could'nt even be bothered to remember my name even after a year.
I would vote with my feet & look for another salon.

Just thought I would update this to say I went again yesterday, the salon was fairly empty and I was attended to almost straightaway. I had decided to leave if not started in 20 mins - but there was no need. Texted my daughter to say I was seen quickly and the recession was probably hitting custom - she texted back to say maybe the others had been kept waiting too and were less patient than me!!
