Making cupcakes from home

Hi

I was wondering if anyone can help? I was thinking of making cupcakes from home and selling them at food and drink fairs. Does anyone know where i would stand with enviro health? I know i need a hygiene certificate but can i make them at home?

I think you have to have your premises where you will be making them checked. It is worth contacting your local council though as everyone has different rules and forms to fill in. Lots of people make things at home and sell them on. When my mum had her restaurant she would sometimes prepare food at home to take there but I know that our kitchen at the time was checked and already covered but this was in the 90s so things might have changed.
