Does makeup contain unsafe levels of lead

Does anyone know if drugstore and premium brands of makeup eg Clinique, Lancome, Bourjois, No7, Sleek, No17, contain lead in their eyeshadows or lipsticks or mineral foundations etc,
Not only would i like to know if it is unsafe level, but also, we are considering going to Australia for about a year and apparently there are regulations where you cannot take cosmetics containing lead. So does that mean i would not be able to take the above brands with me (i have a collection which i enjoy using and suits me well).
any ideas/knowledge will be appreciated

Lead is banned from make-up sold in the European Union. If you are buying well known brands then there is no problem.

I think that there would be massive cases of lead poisoning and I also think I would be dead by now if there were much truth to there being unsafe levels within makeup
so please don't worry!

Oh dear not this old chesnut.
Every few years emails go round saying this contains lead and that brand etc.
There is no lead in makeup. There was in Elizabethian times and people died from lead posioning, it also rotted the skin.
No country or brand has lead, unless some fake chinese stuff but even that is highly unlikely. It is banned, not even pencils have lead in them now or paint. You think they will allow it in makeup and skincare?0 -
No, not now. Centuries ago, yes. Surprised that anybody would believe that would be allowed.0
