  • Hi, sorry to hear that. I find that entering competitions is a cheap way to make money from home, as long as you have internet you can enter all sorts! There's obviously not a guaranteed return but you'll win a few things a month once you get going and you can stick them on eBay. And you might get some nice things into the bargain. Over the years I have won things I;ve sold and things I've found a real bonus in my life that I haven't had to pay for!
Hope you get some good replies.

    Hi yes I can :)
Sorry to hear of your situation - depression and social anxiety are hard illnesses to live with and people who suffer from it need lots of good support around them and I'm speaking from experience x
Now I have said this in a lot of posts but party plan is a good source of income and genuinely builds self-esteem :) It may not be for you straight away - you need professional help first. However I knew a lovely lady who had practically no self-esteem, no sense of self-importance and no self-confidence, she also had clinical depression. This lady also had a very aggressive type of eczema that covered her legs caused by stress. She joined my team in a party plan company that I was involved with at the time and took it step by step. Two months later she started changing and a month later she showed me her legs - her eczema had almost gone :) Now I'm not saying this is for you or even the solution you are looking for right now but it may be something of interest for you in the future x
Get lots of help and support hunny and look after yourself first - in time you may see there are lots of options and choices open to you :)
I wish you all the best x

    Hi Yes i can,

Well you have taken the first steps by asking for help and taking on a positive attitude, and like JennyJewell I am speaking from experience.

There is an easy way to make a small income without any cash outlay and that is by joining a few Cashback Sites and doing the 'dailies' and 'free cash offers' regularly. I must stress that nothing is guaranteed but over the last few years I have had a steady income and I haven't had to pay out anything. You will also be able to save money on your online purchases. Quite a few members of this forum have been cashbacking for years and you can find out more about it on this article of Martins http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/sho...es-comparison/ and also this thread: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2132075

If you want to know more please feel free to PM me, hth x :)

Superb read!! Sounds ideal for your situation O/P!!
  • Just had a look at the book pgilc1 and it certainly has some rave reviews.
Yes I Can - just choosing that 'name' shows that you're determined to pull out of the depression you're in. ;)
There are many work-from-home opportunities around and I think the best thing to do is to investigate them and see which one appeals to you most. A lot of them have dedicated threads on the Netmums forum. Some of them are not expensive to join so that, even if you found the first one you chose was not for you, you wouldn't lose much financially.
I've chosen to distribute eco friendly products so that I can help the environment and earn at the same time.
    Good luck in your search:)

    +1

The book also helps with motivation and mindset, yet the ideas it talks about can be implemented in less than an hour a day - something that can be a big plus with depression where motivation and concentration can be big issues.

I work from home in a "proper job".
There's quite a few companies who do what is essentially call centre work but from home. Depends on your particullar difficulties as to whether it would suit you or not-for some it's face to face that triggers anxiety for example but are fine on the phone-so I'd suggest if you think it may suit you to do a forum search for Teletech (not currently recruiting but I expect they will be later in the year) Arise and Lionbridge to see the opinions of other forum members.

I have similar problems to you but not the same and I find it suits me very well-not perfect -but no job is-I started doing it three years ago and couldn't imagine switching to out of home again now.

You shouldn't have to pay to work for any of the above -over and above a security/ID check (makes sense as they can't see you face to face -mine cost total less than twenty pounds)

just wanted to say im 17 and have really bad social anxiety and depression, so i know how your feeling. specailly about struggling with money too. hang in there xx
  • I too suffer from Social Anxiety, Panic Disorder and Depression and I know that not having a job can make your depression even worse, it makes you feel so useless.

Anyway I struggled finding work because I had no references to give when looking for work. Also I only just moved into a new area with my partner as well and needed the money. But because it was a new area I found it even harder as everything seemed new to me. I ended up getting a job with the local Yellow Advertiser delivering newspapers within walking distance of my house. So if I was to panic I wouldn't be far away from my house. I deliver just over 200 papers in about an hour and a half once a week. I did look into working from home but felt this wasn't helping my problem at all and would be fueling my agrophobia further. I get between £16-19 a week for it, it's not much but you have to take small steps to recover from this. I know a lot of people would turn their nose up at a job like this but it doesn't take up much of your time and it gently pushes you towards meeting people as well. I now have my first reference because of it, something I thought i would never achieve.

I would also recommend this forum which is for people with social anxiety, if your not a member already. We all help each other out achieving goals towards beating this illness.
