Getting employer to accept liability for underpaid tax

Tax is personal, we all have a responsibility to ensure that the tax code and benefits are all correct on our annual notification.

Even if the employer is to blame if you have underpaid tax it still needs paying back.

not enough detail

normally, if you recevie benefits from your employer, the employer will provifde the info to HMRC after the years end i.e. after april 2011 in your case.

Firstly may I suggest you post a separate thread rather than tagging onto a old one.

Secondly what do you mean by gave HMRC an incorrect code as HMRC provide the tax code to the employer not the other way round.

Do you mean that your employer failed to provide HMRC with a P11d?
