Free postage to British Forces Post Offices

What's the deal?
Friends and relatives of British Forces currently in certain operational locations are entitled to free postage for letters and parcels weighing up to 2kg until 8 December. Postage for parcels up to 2kg normally costs up to £8.
Use the British Forces Post Office website to check whether the destination of your parcel is on the list of free delivery destinations.
Your parcel must be going to a named member of service personnel or MOD deployed civilian in one of these authorised destinations.
What you need to do
Take your parcel/letter to your post office with the details of its destination. A label will be printed out and stuck on your parcel at no cost to you. MoneySavers below have reported that not all Post Offices know about this yet. If yours doesn't and you come across problems tell them to look at their Operational Focus Magazine (issue 33, page 13, article 12).

Apologies if this is not in the correct place but didnt know where else to put it.
It's an important freebie to all families with relatives in the forces as the normal postage costs are expensive.
As the title says....free postage to BFPO addresses till 08 Dec, weight limit 2kg.
A lot of Post Offices are not aware of this yet, as I found out today when I went to inquire at mine, so if you go into your PO and they dont know tell them to look in their Operational Focus Magazine issue 33 page 13 article 12.
Any problems phone BFPO customer services 08457 697978.0 -

My local P.O had to double check that the postage was free but BF's boxes of Xmas pressies are winging their way out to Iraq right now. He's doing ok out of this deal...we had a fake xmas before he left with all the trimmings - dinner, tree & decorations, and pressies and now he's got a load more pressies sent out to him ha ha!0 -
Please don't blame the PO staff, there has been at least one update to the list since the original Focus item. A timely full current list on one page would probably be appreciated by PO staff. I doubt it will arrive. Just suggest they check the BFPO. Our office always tries to find the cheapest way...0
