Amazon item prices ending in .97

Hi all

Been watching a boxset price go up and down on Amazon. I was just wondering does a product ending in .97 in price have any significance with amazon?

I thought it meant sale item but its gone up £30!!!

It could be an attempt to sneak in below some other suppliers on the internet comparison services?

I too am fascinated by Amazons prices. I put all the stuff I'm interested in into my shopping basket and then use the 'save for later' option. By looking at the shopping basket every few days I can see the price moving up and down, sometimes by pennies and at other times by pounds. I've now saved a fair few quid by buying when they are lower.
