This showshow naive i am......

I wanted a loan for £10000 over 5 yrs. I enquired with M&S, Tesco and A/L, i also enquired to add to my mortgage with A/L, and enquired for a credit card with tesco and M&S....stupid i know...hindsight and all that.

I was just seeing how much each would cost, little did i know that these affect my credit score, i presumed if i signed up then this would affect the score BUT NO if you enquire it is the same.

so my thought of £196 a month has now gone up to £227!!

How can i get my score back to what it was, i've NEVER had a CC, one loan that was paid off 5yrs ago and a mortgage which is 50% of the house value.

Any advice:(

wait 6 to 12 months before making any more applications.

In any event, best to get a CC; use if regularly for things you normally buy and pay in full each month... this will show on your credit record as being some-one who can handles credit well.

of course you could save up for things you want rather than paying lots of interest

You can try to appeal to the lenders for lower APRs; some people report successes here.
