For once we had some good news yesterday too!
My other halfs workplace hit their targets so he will be receiving a weeks pay as a bonus on the end of this months pay!
AND cos he was given a promotion with pay increase too, and he will have also have done about 16 hours overtime, hopefully at the end of this month we could be looking at an extra £300-400 on the end of it (depends how much the government wanna zap him for) which looks like that chunk could pay off our outstanding Council Tax Bill
(which could almost wipe it out!)
AND i forgot as we are housing association tenants id forgot were entitled to 2 rent free weeks a year, and i'm pretty sure were still due one (gonna contact em monday to find out) SO if thats the case we could be rent arrears free by the end of the month! Oh happy days,

Good for you, what a lovely thing to happen.
It so lovely when something nice comes along (too few in my opinion) and just what is needed to keep you focused on the end goal.
What a great way to start the weekend!

ooo you lucky things! Well done for putting it towards your council tax too xx0

Well it certainly would be great thats for sure, as other wise working it out of the payments i was going to give them it was looking towards 6 months before we would be full paid off on both accounts. Id even been down CAB to get financial statement too, cos the Council Tax people wouldnt except my payment schedule without one, will be nice to be able to stick 2 fingers up at them!
So the enxt step after that is to get the gas account up to scratch a bit more. and then to tackle the tax credits over payments id been paying at £5 a week, would be nice to double it, and have it paid off a bit quicker. and then work out the credit cards, as at the moment i've just gone into reduced payment plans with them, (as at the end of the day In my view those other debts were definitely more important!)0 -
Hi Ceejaydee,
Good news on the money front is always well received and it'll ease some pressure by using it to clear the council tax. Have a good weekend.
RedIf you've nothing decent to say, perhaps you shouldn't say anything.

We have sat with our heads buried in the sand a little too long! especially regarding our "old debts" the credit cards, and loan although thankfully theres only just over 2 years left on that! although with the creditcards between us its almost as much in balance as the loan is at the moment! so i doubt we could clear those in a hurry until the loans paid off!0

Great news, what a lovely finish to the working week...0

Its such a nice warm feeling to think we can have those 2 major debts off our hands (or almost) at the end of this month rather then it being dragged out for 6 months! Its such a weight off my shoulders believe me, I have had some stressful few months wondering what or how we could create income to pay them off.0
