HMV Ipads

Options
Hi. I don't know if this is the correct place to post this. Sorry if not, just a bit of advice please. I purchased 2 iPads Monday from HMV. As u can imagine I am gutted at the fact these are now £100 cheaper due to the fact IPad 2 has been announced. Apple are refunding the difference if bought thru them but I would like advice on what I can do about it if HMV aren't doing the same. We're talking £200 and I would like it refunded if possible. I am very upset about it. Thanks guys!

why upset? you were happy to pay the price
Apple brings out new versions nearly every year
If you bought instore then you have right to a refund.if you bought online then return it under DSR's

Apple can give the £100 back as they are creaming the profits from the iPad
HMV buy their stock from Apple

Exactly, and the media event was announced over a week ago before the OP purchased the iPads.

Its been all over the internet that the iPad 2 was coming out this week, it wasn't even one of these cryptic events that apple sometimes have. The information Apple released made it quite clear the event would be about the iPad.

If the price had been £100 more for the item would you wonder if you should pay the money? You were invited to purchase at a price, you agreed & paid the price, that's where the contract becomes final until such times as an issue surrounding its suitability for work comes into play.

I generally don't stick up for HMV, but in this case, i do.

    No.........Its over 2 months ago.

It never ceases to amaze me that people shop around for goods,
buy them, happy with the price AND THEN STILL KEEP SHOPPING AROUND FOR IT - WHY.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
  • hmv are not going to be around for a lot longer i heard! losing a lot of money, id take them both back and buy from apple direct, at least then if anything goes wrong in our 1st year you know apple wll still be there!

Apple will provide warranty anyway (and much better customer service for problems)

Same with iPhones, the networks just send them back to Apple anyway (deal with Apple direct instead of your operator to save a lot of time and hassle - sending back to the network operator is a complete pain)

If you can walk in and afford to buy 2 ipads I doubt the £200 bothers you that much.
Take this advanced warning 'at some point (prob 2012) Apple will launch the iPad 3' so dont buy any ipad2's late 2011.
