Can you, or do you, get any income from the horse? I know some people do horse shares and help with the livery in return for riding. But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

Id defintaley try to get someone to share your horse and pay a bit towards shoeing and keep etc, although Im the worse as it has taken me 3 years to get the kids outgrown pony out on loan!Member 1145 Sealed Pot Challenge No4

Thanks Janeawej and Theoretica! Unfortunately my horse isn't straight forward and has a number of issues which makes it difficult to get someone else to come and deal with him, but it is a good idea and I have put some thought into it, but decided against due to his 'special' nature!
I do teach riding wherever I can to bring in extra income, and I'm currently planning to become a registered instructor which would cover me from the point of view of insurance. Although to do this, it would be approx £200 so it's a kind of investment rather than a cheap option - but I guess it's safer than having something happen whilst teaching and not being covered by any form of insurance!
Thanks for the ideas though, they're very much appreciated!LBM - been going on for a while (its energy saving you see...)
