I didn't realise you were willing to spend this much. It would've helped if you said so from the outset.

The Samsung LE40C650 is one of the highest scoring Which? Best Buy TVs they've ever tested. The LE37C650 should be as good, provided it uses the same make & type of panel ... there's no guarantee of this with flat panel tvs. You can get the 37" brand new from Richer Sounds for £520 & the 40" from Amazon for £578.

    Hi russ331

I had made a list of tv's that I liked but hadn't noticed this list til the day I bought it. It is more than I thought I'd spend, but that was based on 32" screens. I am glad I went for the bigger screen and don't find it imposing in my flat. The colour on both Freeview and Sky+ is great and I really notice the difference compared to my last tv. I am still finding my way round the tv tho as the manual isn't that helpful so am finding things out myself. I have been using the Freeview today and am finding the sound dipping in and out a bit, tho not sure that is the transmission or the tv as I haven't used Freeview much since having the tv. I am not looking for problems with my tv - I just don't want there to be one lol!!

You may be able to download a more detailed manual from the Samsung
Website, as a PDF file. Then you can use the search facility to find info more easily.

If the Freeview picture quality is good, then the sound should not 'dip'. Is the HD reception on Channels 50 to 54 ok?

HD reception seems fine. I just had sky on and I think that was ok. I will put what I was watching on Sky on freeview and see how it goes.
