Complaints to whom?

I need to write some letters of Complaint for the harrassment and treatment I have received from a credit card company. Other than the Financial Ombudsman who do I complain to. I've complained to the Credit card company's Office of the Cheif Executive and given them 2 weeks in which to at least notify me of acceptance of the letter. Time is up tomorrow and I want to have my letters prepared to post tomorrow should nothing arrive. I've given this company more than enough chances, they appear to be very incompetent and a bunch of bullies.
So please Names and addresses of all organisations I can contact will be appreciated. FSA springs to mind, Trading Standards etc. but I'm not sure.
Thank you in advance.

  • I'm not the greatest for complaints letters but my boyfriend is a bit of a specialist when it comes to complaining! He agrees with a letter to the Trading Standards and the FSA, but he also suggests the ODPM (Office of Deputy Prime Minister for your region). He has complained about things in the past to them and they've been very helpful.

Personally, I wonder if 2 weeks is enough time if you've sent a complaint letter to the Office of the Chief Exec, I imagine it might take longer than that just to get through all the various members of staff before they find the right person to deal with your complaint. But that's just me.

The boyfriend is also suggesting that you write again to the Credit Card company - to the same place you did before and also to the complaints department in customer services saying that you've had no reply from previous correspondence and that you are now in contacting with the FSA, Trading Standards and ODPM regarding the matter. That should be enough to shake some sort of a response out of them.

    Hope that helps!

I've already written to them, I had to send them another letter as they have sent me a notice of pending default even though the last letter I received from the Office of Cheif Executive stated that the yhad notified the Collections department that my account was on a repayment programme. An immediate letter confirming receipt which should be received a week later isn't much to ask surely. Do you have any addresses I can write to.
  • Hi
if you are going to go to the ombusmen, which is the next step, you need to have gone right through the companies complaints proceduer. If not then the ombusman just sends you back. ODPM has gone now & I dont think its successor is anything to do with this either.

    Good luck

I've dealt with the ombudsman with this company before. I know I have to wait 8 weeks before I can complain to them once all avenues are exhausted with this company. The company concerned are so unprofessional it is beyond belief they cant even pass simple information between their departments or even keep their promises.
Ive just typed one letter out ready only to find that the font changed midway through  and I've prited it and deleted it now. Looks like I'll be up late when I get in tonight from work.
