Holiday entitlement

Just a quick one as i cant seem to find a straight answer.

Is your employer obliged to pay any holiday entitlement accrued but not taken by the end of the financial year? For instance, if holiday requests have been denied because of low staffing levels, or you are simply not allowed to take holidays at certain times of the year?

If anyone knows the answer it would be very helpful!

They have to let you take the statutory minimum holidays in the year.

They can't pay you for them.

    staffing levels are their problem

should add check the holiday year it does not have to be the same as the financial one.

No, there is no automatic right to roll over holidays to the following year.

An employer CAN tell you when to or not take holidays however an employer has to allow you to take the statutory minimum.

It is illegal for your employer to pay you for your unused holidays, (minimum entitlement).
