OR telephone interview

All done and dusted. No where near as bad as I thought it would be. Took just over half an hour.

Had to be honest about my gambling but it did feel good to be able to say i've gone 17 months without gambling and knowing my bank statements will back that up. As long as you're honest and don't try to hide things you can't go wrong imo

They didn't go into asking about individual transactions (not sure if that'll come at a later date???) but I stopped spending when I was made redundant in May and became insolvent, and my statements will back that up so they might not be bothered going into it. I was paying off my debts up to this point.

They said they'll only have to write to my parents if they need to confirm I paid my redundancy money to them for unpaid board but as the transaction is highlighted in my bank statement they probably won't (good news)

Going bankrupt is a massive decision to make but once the decision is made the process itself is fairly straighforward and not as scary as I built it up to be in my head

Thanks all for the support

ps if anyone wants to ask any questions about the OR interview or anything else then feel free

I went BR on Tuesday (1st March 11) and am waiting for the date for my telephone interview. I was just wondering what sort of questions do they ask you in telephone interview? I'm sure it varies depending on the details of the case but a general idea would be helpful.
    Thanks

They went through my statement of affairs with me. They went through my assets but the only one i had was money owed to me by a previous employer so asked a few questions on that. Then went through my creditors and asked what money had been spent and over what periods, and when I started struggling to make payments. I think they wanted to know if i'd been spending money when I knew i would struggle to pay it back. They also asked if when i'd last used my credit cards.

It went fairly quickly but i think i'm quite a straighforward case - no assets, all credit was unsecured and i'm currently unemployed. I imagine there'll be a lot more to it for others

Hi, and congratulations, so glad it all went well for you.
We are in court next week, I am so nervous about OR interview, as I am sure everyone is.
It will all fall into place I am sure, but have a few unimportant questions, but they are keeping me awake!
How did you know what to have ready when OR called? Did they give you a list at court or did OR send you a list?
Did you have to contact bank for statements or did you already have them?
Some of our debt goes back 15 years and I can't remember some of the spending, do you think 'living expenses' is good enough?
Sorry the questions are so trivial, but its the little things that work away at me, the big stuff I can cope with!
    Thank you. x
