I do not know if this is even the right place to post this, but cannot contain my utter joy at what i have just got in the post!!!
I made a telephone call to Santander two weeks ago to lodge a complaint against short on my endowment. Went through a few details with person on phone and recevied a bundle of 22 pages of forms to fill in two days later. had a go at filling them in and saw they needed to be returned by 28th Feb or complaint would be closed. Rang and tried to ask for more time to fill in form only to be questioned on 8 yes 8 separate questions to get through security. I could not put my hand on my NI number and so was told by operator that I had "failed " my security check and someon would ring me within 4 hours ( this was at 6pm at night ) to confirm security. Nonone rang.
I put forms to one side and thought I will get back in touch and ask for deadline to be extended which I was told it could.
Sat going through finances this morning when post thundered through door. Official sounding and looking envelope was included. Opened it and couldn't beleive that even though I habve filled in no forms only spoke on the phone. They have offered my £6498.00 compensation on my endowment. Whhhhhey !!!!!!!
Cannot beleive it . Thought at one time that I couldnt be bothered to complain as deadline had gone etc.., So am over the mooon.
Mortgage already paid off and we switched part to repayment to cover this so didn't really miss it.
I am truly delighted - Thanks to this site I am one happy lady !!!!!:j:j:j:j:j:j:beer::beer::j:j:j:j

The figures are around 3/4 of all endowments are time barred. So, that still leaves 1/4 and you must have fallen within that.Off to buy tiles for my new bathroom floor now instead of cushionfloor !!!!!!

I read it as OP had already repaid mortgage, so she can spend on whatever she likes0

That may explain why they paid out so much then as the redress payment would be calculated to the point that it was no longer used with the mortgage.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
