Frozen cooked chicken

I need a bit of help with tea.

Fist of all I have some ready cooked chicken that I have just got out of the freezer. I bought it reduced and have no idea how long it will take to thaw. Ideally I wanted it for tea tonight but forgot to get it out until just now. I hope I can just give it a quick defrost blast in the microwave or can I even cook it from frozen seeing as it is already cooked?!?!

Secondly If I can use it what can I use it for. I was going to do it with pasta but not sure what sauce or anything to do with it.

Any ideas would be great as I am not feeling so good today so just fancy an easy day.

If it's out of the freezer now, it should be defrosted by this evening. If you want to help it along, give it short blasts (3-4 minutes) on defrost in the microwave alternated with longer periods of resting.

You could make a chicken and pasta bake; Chop up the chicken, put it in an oven proof dish with some pasta and veg (I like lightly steamed brocolli). Make a cheese sauce and pour over the pasta and chicken and top with breadcrumbs mixed with grated cheese. Pop it into the oven until it's heated through and the top has begun to brown.

For an easier version use campbells chicken or mushroom soup instead of the cheese sauce and top with crushed plain crisps.
