Hi Guys,
Not too clued up on this all in one business. Do they copy/scan/print?? Would I be better off with a plain printer if thats all i need it for??
If the all in one is better then is this one http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/6702096/Trail/C%24cip%3D41921.Office%2C%2BPC%2Band%2Bphones%3EC%24cip%3D41946.Printers%3EC%24cip%3D41951.All-in-one%2Bprinters.htm any better???

They are both all in one printers. These are very handy as they are a photocopier too which is always handy.
Unless you are gonna print off photos a simple PSC will be fine. Check the price of the ink aswell.0 -

Someone posted this in one of the other threads but thought it would be useul in its own thread. Decent price for an all in one.
HTH.
I posted this originally on the grabit board. I was initially planning to get it from Makro, where it is on special offer from tomorrow for £39.99 plus VAT. Then I spotted it on the Argos site at £49.99 added it to the basket to see if it was in stock, just in case there weren't any in Makro and up it came at £39.99.0 -
I thought I'd finally delurk as I've at last got something to add!
Having bought one of these, I'd highly recommend it, especially for printing photos.
Photo print quality is excellent on Staples's economy photo paper (buy A4 sheets and cut them into four for 6x4" photos - cheaper that way!), the paper tray nicely adapts to 6x4" paper, and it's easy to print straight from a card if your camera supports DPOF - just stick the card in, select the paper size and away you go.
Does anyone have any experience of printing photos with the cheap refills from inkemporium? I'd quite happily print in black with refill cartridges, but I'd have thought it'd be harder to get the quality of photo inks right.0 -
I agree, its great I bought it online when at £39.99, and it is fab, blows my canon mp370 out of the water!
Especially the photos, although neither are designed specifically for photos they will print them and the brother quality is better than my canon. Though to be fair the mp370 is quite old now.
I am converted to Brother! Thanks mse'rs for another great deal! My old printer is going to family for Christmas now..I always wanted to be a procrastinator, never got round to it...0 -
I'd second the recommendations for this printer, I snapped one up in June when they were £49.99 and I'm really pleased with it!
Then the other day my parents asked me to help them with buying an all-in-one, and after spending about an hour weighing up the pros and cons of Canons and Epsons, I looked on the Argos site for something completely unrelated, and saw it selling for £39.99! "Get it without delay!" I shouted at themHappy coincidence or what?
I installed it for them last night and they're happily printing away.
Kev, where do you get your compatible cartridges from?
I found dirt cheap compatibles at choicestationery, as Mr Kennedy said -

lesley2004,
Anyone know where i can get a cheap usb cable? Argos were charging £11.50thought i would see if i could get a cheaper one.
My Dad got an overpriced Argos one ages ago - when I was less computer savvy. He knows to run everything by me first now!!Don't ever get stuff like this from Argos!
Personally I'd be wary of getting stuff like this from pound shops - just my opinion. But try this one, again from choicestationery -

£1.87 delivered. They seem a good company to deal with.
PS, choicestationery just emailed me a 5% off code, and I know I probably won't be allowed to post it here, but I'm going to do a post on the Discount Codes board in a minute. And if anyone wants the code, they can PM me too. That money talks
I won't deny.
I heard it once,
It said "Goodbye"0 -
Is it worth hanging on to see if the price drops again or is it more likely to revert back to full price again?0

It's currently £49.99 at Staples, £49.50 at Pixmania, £55ish at Dabs, and > £37.99 (+£7.50 delivery) for a refurbished one from Brother <, so it looks like you'd be able to pick it up for a similar price elsewhere even if Argos do put their price up.0 -

Ink carts for this are mega bucks! Stick with the Brother! So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable Christopher Reeve (1953-2004)0
