I would love to set up a gravity feed rainwater tank out the back and have simple tap somewhere, also one pipe going to bathroom.

Any good links for info about setting up your own rainweater harvesting?
    Hi

Try this link to the EA first ..... http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/homeandleisure/beinggreen/118948.aspx ... it's pretty basic but covers the main points ....

  • Hi mpmbm,

I have set up a very basic diy rain harvesting system and greywater system. I found this forum useful:

This is a link showing the setup we have

We use a lot of water in the garden so have linked water butts and IBC containers so we can store around 2500 litres of water. It doesn't save a lot money wise but when the reservoirs round here are down to 11% full it makes you feel better that you aren't depleting them further to water the garden or wash the car. We don't use the water for household use but could do if things got desperate and the mains water went off.

We've used old fruit storage barrels as water butts as they work out cheaper, they can be linked together in the same way and again it was cheaper to use plumbing fittings that the custom plastic joining kits.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.
