Sainsbury's deli counter does sandwich platters. I do work for Sainsbury's at Holywood Exchange on the deli counter, just to make that clear. But our sandwich platters are of pretty high quality. We do normally ask for 5 days notice in order to make sure we get the stock in, but we have on occasion made exceptions in the past for unpredictable events such as funerals. I can't guarantee we'll be able to help you, as it does depend on stock levels but it wouldn't hurt to give us a call. 028 9042 8140, ask to be put through to the deli counter, then ask to speak to Geraldine (counters manager, she'll most likely be the most able to tell you whether or not its possible)

Failing that, The Streat chain of cafe's do a pretty excellent range of sandwich platters and they're pretty yummy.
  • Eat Etc on the Belmont Road do them.

Doorsteps also do them and will deliver - they can also provide tea and coffee. Not sure if there is one in East Belfast, but I have phoned and ordered platters from the one in Ann Street and got them delivered.

I've also used The Streat, and they are good too.

We would be happy to help, some of the East Belfast Funeral Directors recommend us anyway - phone no as above 90 798445 or pm me here.

Hope you get something sorted out, from personal experience I know that this is never an easy time, so best wishes anyway.
DJWW - cos we won't let it!

M&S also do platters, no idea how much notice is needed but the number of the city centre store is 9023 5235.

    Good luck xo

  • In work if we've had to feed visitors or a meeting has run over The Streat have been quick to rustle something up and they've been very reasonably priced, even when we go to Connswater at lunchtime when they're at their busiest they do a brilliant job.
