Hi Cornish I might be wrong but my answer was Ghost data xxx
Sources : http://www.nintendo-universe.co.uk/2011/01/20/namco-bandai-set-to-unleash-ridge-racer-3d-for-nintendo-3ds-launch/
The Nintendo 3DS' unique Street Pass ability will also be utilised through the ability to swap Ghost data,

StreetPass Duel automatically collects and distributes player racing data to nearby consoles. Players can then save the ghost data and watch or race against it at a later date.

Racing also sets up your ghost data, which you can then swap with other racers via the 3DS's Street Pass feature#JusticeForGrenfell0 -

Thanks Toni,
I don't even know what Mii's are :rotfl: perhaps that's the same as ghost data #StaySafeWishing you a Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year0 -
Agree on ghost data
http://www.nintendo.co.uk/NOE/en_GB/news/iwata/iwata_asks_-_nintendo_3ds_third_party_game_developers_31641_31843.html#top (Mentioned about 3/4 down the page)
A Mii is basically just an avatar used on nintendo's, ghost data (in regards to Ridge Racer) is a transparent image of another players car that you can see on the screen to compare against your own
