I'm hoping that some of you cleaning gurus may be able to give me some advice because I am out of ideas.
I've got cream carpets (not my choice, they were here when I moved in!) and there is an orange stain on one of them. I think that it's iron bru but I'm not sure. I really can't shift it.
So far I've tried:
Stardrops,
vanish carpet cleaner,
another foam that is for cleaning car seats,
vinegar,
stain devil (it said not to use it on carpets but I did)
The stain is looking a little lighter but nothing seems to shift it. I've considered bleach as I thought that a white bleech mark would look better than the orange stain but then I'm not sure.
Am I going to have to go and buy a rug or does anyone else have any ideas?
Thanks in advance

you need the irn bru thread. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

Is it a wool carpet or a man made one.
You'll find you have to be much more careful with wool and stains are much harder to remove from wool too.
Don't use bleach on wool carpet either.
I hope you find a solution that works.0 -
Thanks both of you.
Wow Jackieglasgow. It never occured to me that someone else would have had this problem too. You must have a phenominal memory.
I'm not sure Johnny Loves Jazz. I presume that it's man made but not certain[STRIKE]December low - £3012 January low - £2589[/STRIKE]

Just in case anyone with a similar problem stumbles across this. After reading the other thread, I managed to get rid of the stain!
I mixed some of the vanish powder which normally goes in the washing machine with some water until it formed a paste and put this on. I had to leave it for about 18 hours, giving it a rub every now and then but it's gone![STRIKE]December low - £3012 January low - £2589[/STRIKE]
