I have a BM. From a Lidl Car Park Sale!

I went to the lidl car park sale in Newton Heath this morning, not expecting to find anything too good, ended up getting:

breadmaker
glass jugged blender
presure cooker
set of 5 saucepans
2 digital scales
plastic fruit and veg racks

and some none OS things:
remote controlled sockets
2 clocks
lamp
toolchest on a trolley

all for the grand old price of £50!!!

Already made some bread in the BM. Yummy!

Must get out more - to me, BM is shorthand for Bowel Movement!
The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.

Queenie - Dammit, if only you'd told me that yesterday! ;)

I found out about the car park sale from some kind soul posting on the shopbutdontdrop board on here.

I've made two loaves so far, the first was a bit salty, and the second (a fruit loaf) a bit crisp around the edges. But I'm still experimenting at the moment.

BM's don't need much salt; the fruit loaf possibly went a bit crisp because of the sugary content (sugar + fruit = sugary :D ) Try adding a little less fruit :)

:T :T :T Well done on your 2 attempts though, you fast mover you! ;):D

finc, it was you, I was going to thank you but lost the thread.

There were some good bargains, I think there were only 2 breadmakers and one blender though. We got there about 930 to be first in the queue. By the time we left the queue was about an hour long.

I should've grabbed more little things to fill the trolley. I doubt they'd have charged me any more for them. Ah well, you live and learn.

Queenie - I just used the recipe out of the manual which came with for the fruit loaf. I think I might end up using the oven to cook the bread. Would make it a nicer shape, and not have 2 holes in the bottom.

:p It is better to be thought of as an idiot than to open your mouth and remove all doubt
