Tomatoes

Options
I use quite a few tins of toms each week and have come to the conclusion that as they last for ages and I have the space it would be good to buy in bulk.

Can anyone advise where to purchase from?

The cheapest I can find is circa 33p per 400g for savers - any advances on that?

Any help appreciated

Cheers

check out the 'special offers' section of your supermarket, as well as the ethnic food section. I sometimes find these at 50p on BOGOF in the special offers section or 29p - 31p in the ethnic foods section. The same product is never in the canned goods (tinned tomatoes) section, so well worth checking elsewhere in the store.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Home Bargains have them on offer at 4 for £1 - both peeled and chopped and they can be mixed. They are good quality (I think anyway).
I bought some small half cans of tomato puree a few weeks ago (packs of 4) for 40p'ish and can't remember where. I'll stock up big style the next time I see this offer. Please if anyone has seen this offer, can they post??

25p for passata in Asda, seems to go further than a tin if making sauce.

I agree about the passata. I have started buying this as well as the tinned toms. At 25p for 500g smart price in asda it definitely goes further and is cheaper. Thanks for the tip about the toms in asda at 15p. Will definitely be going to stock up at that price.

(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...
