So 'the people' do not include people who are not members of Facebook. How open.0

Sounds like the sort of concept you would have found in some eastern European countries in the 1950s.0

what?
you don't join through facebook, you don't buy your groceries through facebook.
have you not seen the program on channel 4? the series is still on 4od,go watch it.
you turn up at the shop in person, join for £25 per year and work a few hours per month in the shop to gain a discount on shopping.
facebook is just a vehicle to make it popular,to get folk talking about it and to make sure enough folk will like it in real life.
"the people" means everyone,even folk without internet,not just facebook....work permit granted!0 -
If you watch the series, you will see that the peoples supermarket, not only makes quality produce affordable and cheaper than the 3 big ones, but also means that the producers and farmers actually break even or lo and behold make a very small living from selling their produce, as well as reducing the waste that is produced from the big supermarkets, and stopping farmers having to throw away massive amounts of great food because"its not straight" or " its no longer what tesco want" despite tesco wanting it 6 months ago and it taking 6 months to grow.
Its a fabulous concept, and at present, the easiest way to let people know what you are doing seems to be social media sites such as facebook and twitter.
Since the peoples supermarket requires people knowing about it in order to work, it makes sense to use what is currently the largest social media available for free....
I suggest that those who seem quick to criticise, actually watch the documentry on it, then come back and make whatever point they think is still valid.I will pay jexygirl the compliment of saying that she invariably writes a lot of sense!0
