LOL, they made me smile if nothing else.
I second the idea of making a hole/cut and putting tomato/cheese/whatever other filling you want inside...pretend they are meant to be calzones!

We've got the same kitchen tiles!!! They look fantastic. I'd eat them as pittas or stuff them full of salad and meat and dip and eat like the greeks do - YUMMMMMYYYYYYYMe, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
Another vote for calzone!
I used to make my own bases - still do occasionally - and my tip was, part-cook them on the hob in a heavy based pan, rather than in the oven. Really hot pan, literally to blast some bubbles and colour into the base. Much more manageable and predictable!0 -

They are very pretty!
Next time give a few pokes with a fork between raising and cooking, that should stop 'em puffing!
For now, I second the shoving whatever you were going to put in them inside, but if you were gonna freeze them, you'll need a bit more space than anticipated!0 -
They look smashing
Not sure if it'll work once they are completely cool, but if it ever happens again, just puncture them and press down with an oven glove - the steam/air will escape, and they will flatten down. Then you can use as normal, and no one will be any the wiser with a finished product

They look lovely...like one of my very favourite things...gnocchi fritti (fried gnocchi) which you have ripped open, steaming..with prosciutto , cheese, possibly adding a rich honey and hazelnuts, and perhaps a battuto...a sort of beaten lard...the ends of the hams so salty and strongly flavoured, or a lard with salt and rosemary ground into it. so, I'd reheat them and then serve with a plate of italian cheeses and ham to have a less unhealthy version of those light soft gnocchi!
