Need to raise £4k cheapest way for new roof

Hi Hope someone can advise, I'm a home owner with Halifax motgage for last 15 years. No savings to speak of as been reducing credit cards.
I need to raise £4K to fun a new roof on the house, and obviously want to do it the cheapetst way.
I have no outstanding loans, and only about £1,000 on a credit card.
I'm in full time emplyment, with a small family

Any advise would be usefull

How urgent is the roof work, obviously you need to protect your investment, IE: the house. I know that adding to a mortgage is a long term solution but if you add the interest of the years left also an expensive one but maybe Halifax will discuss with you.

What do you earn and what can you afford to repay on a loan each month ?
  • Yes it needs doing this summer, high winds up here in the grim North. Top line salary 29K, guess could afford £150 maybe tad more depends on length
