can anyone tell me how to rid my kitchen of this horrible smell after I have mopped the floor? its a traditional string mop which is stored in a bucket of water & bleach when not in use. When I clean the floor i fill up the bucket with 2 capfuls of Flash detergent added and about 7 squirts of bleach! ive even bought a brand new mop and still have the same problem- where am I going wrong ? !!!:money:

You might be better letting the mop dry out between uses rather than storing in water and bleach. Putting outside to dry in the fresh air/sun should help too.0

I agree with previous poster and dont think you need to use Flash and bleach. Rinse the mop out after use and let it completely dry and I`m sure it will get rid of the problem. If you can unscrew the head off the handle then I`d put it in a pillowcase and wash in the WM which would solve the problem. Let us know how you get on. HTH0

The mop is going mouldy as it's never allowed to dry out.Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud.0

let the mop head dry out and rinse with vinegar to get rid of the smell if it comes back when wet again.Sue
Do I need to eat it
Can I afford the calories:eek:
have I checked for a lower calorie version:T0 -
First don't keep the mop in water. Where I used to work we had a professional cleaner who always stored the mop with the head upright. Better still, change the type of mop you use. There are plenty on the market to choose from and most of them ring out better than the string type.0

I agree with the above posters - rinse the mophead after use, wring it out and let it dry! then use either Flash OR bleach! I prefer a mop which has those white and blue synthetic heads - but am not averse to string ones if they are cheaper - they seem to last longer too if treated right!0
