You can usually pick up one of these basic MP3 players with 512MB of memory for about £10-15 these days, so not really the greatest of value.

hamster.thankyou so much for this info.the mp3 player is for my 9 year old daughter.ideally a pink one would be best but would rather get one i can help her use.i am now torn between 3 players,the play.com one£17.99,the argos alba one and another one on amazon called a sansdisk(i think).any more help in my decision making would be gratefully appreciated

The Alba one is just too ugly. Just because your daughter is nine, doesn't mean that she won't notice.

If you're quick off the mark, you can get the best of both worlds with a Philips 512MB player with an expansion slot, currently at £12.07. Posted to your PM box.
