Proving breadrolls help needed

Right I got my Panny - love it to bits! I've done alsorts of bread but now I want to move on to rolls. I tried chelsea buns the other day- proved it for 10 seconds in the micro, as stated in the manual- they didn't double in size, but nevertheless tasted divine. Anyway the kids were watching a programme on how to make bread and after the proved it -it was huge! Then I realised that my chelsea buns should have been huge and the micro method wasn't working. So please can anyone tell me the proper way to prove breadrolls. My kitchen isnt that warm these days so leaving them out won't do much will it?
Thank you for any help.

A tip I got from a prodigious breadmaker friend of mine was to get one of those cheap office lamps, the sort you can direct the beam iykwim, I got a pink one from B&Q for about £3. Pointing at them it generates enough heat for them to rise well.

Have you got a warm airing cupboard you can put them in?0

I make all my bread (loaves and rolls) by hand and simply prove them by leaving them in the kitchen at room temp. I've never had any problems. I prove rolls for 25 mins and bake for 20.0

Thank you so much for your help!
Sadly we don't have an airing cupboard
but we do have a lamp!! So I'll try leaving it out for 25 minutes (boy thats a looong time when you're greed like me!) and boosting it with the lamp too. Thanks again. July Win: Nokia 58000 -
mmm. Home made rolls.
You can leave the rolls anywhere to prove, it doesn't have to be a warm place. The only reason you;d normally pick a warm place is that the cooler it is, the longer it will take.
I'm not sure i'd bother with a lamp. Just leave them on the worktop in the kitchen and get on with something else. It's a great thing to do before you pop out to the shops, for example.0 -

dannahaz is right, the only problem is my house is so cool it just takes ages and ages:DWe must not, in trying to think about how we can make a big difference, ignore the small daily differences we can make which, over time, add up to big differences that we often cannot foresee.
