You'd have to pay me to fly with them lol! The taxes and surcharges are so high and the cabin crew attitude just awful. We flew with them once and hadn't realised that people with babies and kids don't board first(easyjet and every other airline let you board first for safety reasons) So Ryanair wanted the kids to sit on their own!!! At the ages of 5 and 6. Ummm no thanks.0

CAA website http://www.caa.co.uk/default.aspx?catid=1770&pagetype=90&pageid=9855
"Family Groups
CAA guidelines ask airlines to develop procedures for the seat allocation of family groups, particularly when a group includes children. It is probable that family group members would seek each other out should an emergency evacuation be required, an action that could adversely affect the passenger flow rates towards emergency exits and might seriously affect the outcome of an evacuation.
Additionally, children and infants should be seated where they can be adequately supervised by an accompanying adult in the event of turbulence or a decompression in the cabin.
Airlines procedures should take into account the following factors:
Children, accompanied by adults, should ideally be seated in the same seat row as the adult. In wide-bodied aircraft, children and accompanying adults should not be separated by more than one aisle. Where this is not possible, children should be separated by no more than one seat row from accompanying adults.
Seat allocation procedures for family groups and suitable seating arrangements for large parties of children should reflect the above criteria.
Whenever small numbers of infants and children are travelling together, the airline should make every effort to ensure that they are allocated seats where they can be readily supervised by the responsible accompanying adult in both normal and abnormal conditions."Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
Thanks for that I should have put in a letter of complaint. It's simple logic isn't it! They said we should have paid for the speedy boarding. :S0

Ryanair's answer appears to be buying speedy boarding:
To ensure that all families travel at the best price and receive the best service we have introduced a number of services to make it easier for family travel:

I support Den 169
We can be a family up to 7 including 3 children one of 3, 5, 12, and a 16 year old, at no time have we been split up, also it might be a good idea to arrive 2 hours prior to boarding to get a position near the front of the queue. If you follow their procedures re hand luggage with the right size case and prepaid master card (https://www.fairfx.com) and no handbag(s) you will have no trouble. The staff have always been nothing but polite and we fly 6 times if not more with Day Trips (£6 pisa) a year.
Ibiza exceptionally good prices at the moment, for a hotel use

I have noticed that Ryanair prices are very cheap, but I've also noticed that everything extra costs (and a lot).
The company recently started the flights from my city.
I would like to know if it is cheap and vice to take the hotel, car etc from ryanair.com? Has somebody compared the prices?
I'm planning to go to Lappeenranta. Any experiences? I would so much like to visit Finland..

Maybe best to leave the good value flights to people that know what they are doing?
I have just come back from Malta with Ryanair, £30 return. If that is what counts as so high, then I am happy to pay so high prices!Gone ... or have I?0 -

I agree, I wont knock ryanair but I also will never fly with them.
I fly BA and Olympic Airlines 4 times a year and if you book well in advance you dont pay through the nose, there are still bargains to be had with the reliable airlines.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. With hotels and car hire, you are best to shop around. Ryanair may be good value, but there are several comparison sites that allow you search many sites at once - if you Google 'compare hotel prices' you will find helpful resources.Gone ... or have I?0
