Is any one having trouble with this today. Im trying to pay for something with my cashminder card on line and the verified by visa password thingy is not working. Or is it just me?

No one? its not my password or anything think they must be having some sort of problems will have to ring later if not sorted out.0

I used it last night with no problem but a couple of weeks ago the site was down due to some hackers trying to get to it and it took 36 hours to sort out! So it could be that they are back!

Below is a bit knee jerk reaction but I've not used my smile visaDebit for many moons. Whenever I use Barclaycard plastic: Visa or MasterCard (both are registered with services: Verified by Visa and Barclaycard Secure respectfully) many sites shove up a Verified by Visa page which contains Merchant Name, Amount, Date, last 4 card digits and a Personal Greeting text which I recorded with the services when registering the cards. This text, being known only by me and the service, serves as a security feature and must appear on this Verified by Visa page. If it does not then there is probability/chance that whatever I key in eg, password, memorable phrase etc. will be hijacked.
smile, in its wisdom does not follow above. No real way to warrant the page is ok and info keyed in is secure etc.
I did do a good 10mins of due dillegence before finally believing that form ok.
However, thot I'd at least post my experience and what I sent to smile via their Secure Messages system when logged on to smile.
Cannot be too careful when online, yes?
Additionally, when going through the payment pages on Barclaycard, browser status bar shows waiting for secure5.arcot.com and many cookie popups wanting to be allowed. I had cookie storage requests cuz recently nuked all IE's cookies. I realise that offsite payment processors can be used in online transactions, however I never considered that Barclays (I really do dislike them even tho 45yrs customer and used to work for them too!) would be using a service like arcot.com...
So, between seeing arcot.com address in status bar and the [potentially] bogus Verified by Visa challenge page - you could say I was totally suspicious:eek:
as sent to smile bank - awaiting answer and if of interest will post their reply...At Barclaycard to settle Mastercard bill, paying by current a/c visaDebit.
Why does smile not have some sort of authentication watermark on this "Verified by VISA" page? Simply put, both services: Verified by Visa and Barclaycard Secure, display a 'personal greeting text' line. Why? to allow me to have some security knowing that the greeting text is known ONLY by me and 'legitimate card vendor'. Meaning I do not keyin any requested data unless this page proves to me that is [hopefully] legit. It took a complete leap of faith to proceed. Seriously, I am very annoyed by this and plan to NEVER use this card again for ANY online transaction unless smile provides proof that the form is indeed sending info back to smile servers.
Please Advise.
On the bright side - down in Bournemouth and the day has allowed the sun to appear :T so life 'n the universe gotta be A-OK!
