I ordered some for my daughter as spares, son ordered some and I ordered some as sunglasses for in the car. Well pleased- theanks OP!

Blast ... presumed it was 1 PER PERSON???

Would have ordered a spare pair if I'd known! ;)

Happy I got one though & the ones I liked too ... They were in the £39 section not the £49 ones but didn't care as I loved them..

I actually made a quick appt @ my opticians yesterday to get a recent prescription for these - The receptionist asked WHY I wanted my prescription as I can get basic glasses free on the NHS so I told her about the freebie and wanted the prescription ''just in case''!! :D

Finish now. They are all gone. 5000 limit was reached already ....
  • Okay - Gonna be honest now - I WAS tempted to order a second pair since I got mine within first few seconds of 5pm BUT thought it was a fair offer if it was restricted to one per person as then everyone has a chance of getting their one pair each AND I didn't wanna have a pair just sitting in a drawer somewhere..

    By the way if anyone missed out esp the ladies if you like Playboy glasses ( and some of them are really nice ) for approx £3 more then this free offer you can get a pair of specks here ;

Or a couple of Bench ones here ; https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3082116

It IS one per person. On their facebook it said something along the lines of, if you were in breach of the t&c's, then they had a right to cancel your orders. (And I'm 100% certain that one of the rules was only one per person).

I'd be amazed if all of muries & co.'s orders got shipped.

Gutted, I have broke my glasses and need a new pair, I don't have the luxury of a spare pair so am really struggling!

Hope those who got more than one pair appreciate them!! People can be so selfish of others when it comes to a bargain for themselves (and no I never abuse good offers like this)!!
Lucky wins: The Resident book, Open Season box set & portable DVD player, return flights to Belfast & £100 Ticketmaster, Ringo Starr tickets, L'Oreal gift bag, K-Swiss T-Shirt, Converse Allstars, Parker Pen, Large wash, iron and fold service Johnson Dry Cleaners, Viva La Juicy perfume Juicy Couture, ring and body lotion gift set,
  • Like I said I was honest about being a bit TEMPTED to order a 2nd pair but I just COULDN'T do it as I felt it would be UNFAIR to others ... Which of course it IS.. And its already SUCH a generous offer giving us ONE pair so was more than happy to get my pair for free ( well , £6.75 postage )

Another thing which is a shame the way it worked out is some people thought their original order DIDN'T go through because of an error message so tried again and again and ended up with multiple orders by mistake which they had to cancel - But this technical glitch still meant that more of the 5,000 pairs were taken up with accidental orders because of the error message

I myself got an error message so thought my order didn't go through / payment wasn't taken when it WAS but moments later an e-mail confirmation came through & checked on their webpage in my 'recent orders' and it was there...

Its a pity some missed out because of ACCIDENTAL multiple orders too

Thanks for clearing up that it WAS one per customer which I PRESUMED it was for this great offer - Didn't even get to read T&C's but its such a good and generous freebie that one per person is MORE then enough as a free pair of glasses it such a bonus and was / am just happy to get one!!! :D

So sorry you and others missed out Sahara - I think they should find a way of not allowing multiple orders to go through in the future as even cancelling them means some people still missed out!! :(

Its such a pity & I hope you get a pair of glasses you love very soon ... Did you see the Playboy £9.95 ones or there is also a cheap glasses thread on here X
  • Funny ( or not so funny actually ) thing is I queried if it was one per person on their Facebook page and they REMOVED MY COMMENT!!!

So were they embarrassed that so many multiple orders went through or was it actually perfectly ok for some people to purchase multiple freebies.....

Not happy that I was on their side ie wanted to clear things up and keep things fair for everyone but it seems to have offended them the fact that I was enquiring if it was one per person...

Simple query I thought , dunno what they've got to hide apart from not wanting loads of outraged people on their Facebook page complaining they didn't get a pair when others ordered more than one!
  • Applied for a pair of varifocals using this £50 deal. After discount, then addition of charges, it came to £99.20. Still a good price for new varifocal specs. Entered payment details, using Mastercard (for security) but final page stated 'Unable to process transaction' and gave a variety of possible reasons. Shut down and tried again - same result. In case it was anything to do with Mastercard I tried a final time with Visa Debit. Same 'Unable to ......' Gave up and had dinner. Checked emails and found: all three transactions had been processed and I was almost £300 down! Got through (eventually) on 0800 line and they were clearly getting a few of these calls as quite unsurprised. Cancelled two orders. Felt happier. Today (Sunday 13th) I note that one payment is going through on Visa and two on Mastercard. Will be calling again tomorrow. So far not a happy experience.
  • i ordered mine on 5 at the dot but had pre entered details everything went through fine but used paypal site crashed when making payment but instead of trying again i just checked my paypal and the money had gone through got the email a while later but i think a few people kept trying and ended up being charged a few times which is a shame but hopefully they will rectify this for you :)
